Recommendations for a yoga retreat in Greece
Here are some final recommendations to help you find the perfect retreat for you, all from my experience as a yogi doing retreats and living in Greece:
- Choosing the retreat: Find the retreat that best suits your preferences based on yoga style, additional activities, and even the area of Greece you want to visit.
- Dates: You should also keep in mind that most of these retreats are not organized in winter and some, depending on the location, are not organized in the warmer months either. If you travel to Greece in winter, the only retreats with year-round availability are numbers 2 and 3 in Glyfada.
- Solo travel: One of the great things about retreats is the chance to meet other like-minded people and spend a fulfilling holiday in good company, which is why it is ideal if you are travelling alone. Plus, the yoga teachers are experts at creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Beginner Yogis: If you have never practiced yoga, don't worry, all the retreats in this article are multi-level. That is, the teacher always gives alternative postures. The only exception is retreat number 3, it is for all levels, but it is a more intense yoga retreat, I only recommend it if you practice exercise regularly.
- Yoga material: You won't need to bring anything to the retreats, all the material will be included. Although I personally always prefer to bring my own mat, especially for hygiene reasons. If you don't have room in your suitcase, the yoga towels like the one in the link are an excellent alternative.
- What to wear and what to wear : You will need comfortable clothing and something warm for the meditations. Also, remember to bring everything you will need for additional activities such as hiking shoes, a swimsuit, and other similar things. If you are visiting Greek beaches, it is also a good idea to bring water shoes like these, because many beaches are made of stones or pebbles.
- Reservations and Discounts: I recommend that you book the yoga retreat you are interested in in advance, as the most popular ones tend to sell out because places are limited. Also, if you book in advance, some offer discounts.
- Doubts: If you need more information, go to the link of the retreat that interests you and below you will see a green button that says "send a question" and the organizers of the retreat will respond directly to you. 😉
Final Thoughts
These are the best yoga retreats in Greece to enjoy stunning locations while living a transformative experience that combines wellness, culture and nature. Any of the retreats I have recommended will allow you to relax, rejuvenate and return home with renewed energy. If you are looking for a destination that inspires and connects you with yourself, Greece has the perfect retreat waiting for you.
If you are going to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Greece, in this guide you can continue reading all my articles, based on my personal experience of living in the country.
