🏖 15 Best Beaches in Rhodes: Something for Everyone

If you're planning a trip to Rhodes and wondering which beaches to check out, here's a full list of my favorites. Some are quiet and hidden, others are more lively and touristy, but they all have something special. So grab your swimsuit—we’re going beach hopping around Rhodes. You’ll find a map with all the beaches marked at the end of the post.

Rhodes Beaches: 15 Must-Sees

1. Tsambika Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes. Golden sand, turquoise water, and a hill with amazing views. The beach is long, so even in high season there’s plenty of space. You’ll find sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, and even water activities. It’s easy to get there by car (free parking), and there’s also a bus stop nearby.

If you feel like walking, you can hike up to Tsambika Church at the top of the hill—the view is worth every step, and it’s one of the best things to do in Rhodes.

2. Anthony Quinn Bay

This little cove is famous for a reason: it’s stunning. It was named after actor Anthony Quinn, who fell in love with the spot while filming The Guns of Navarone. And I totally get it. Crystal-clear water, rocky surroundings, and a magical vibe. It’s a pebbly beach, not sandy, and not very big—so if you’re visiting in high season, get there early. There’s a small bar and you can rent sunbeds.

It’s also one of the best beaches in Rhodes for snorkeling. If you’re into water activities, I recommend this Pirates' Kayak Tour that also stops at Ladiko Beach, which I mention below.

If you’re driving, there’s parking right in front. If you take the bus, it drops you off near Ladiko, and from there it’s about a 5-minute walk.

3. St. Paul's Bay (Lindos)

A beautiful cove right next to the whitewashed village of Lindos. The water is calm and warm—perfect for a relaxing swim. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles. You’ll find sunbeds, umbrellas, and a few tavernas nearby.

It’s a great spot to combine with a visit to the Lindos Acropolis. From the top, you get an incredible view of the bay—it looks like a hidden lagoon from up there.

You can reach Lindos by bus or car. There are several parking spots along the road near the village, and one closer to St. Paul’s Bay.

4. Agathi Beach

Perfect if you’re looking for soft sand and shallow water—great for families with little kids. There are sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and a couple of beach bars. It’s easy to reach by car, but if you’re taking the bus, you’ll have to walk a couple of kilometers from the main road.

5. Prasonisi Beach

A natural wonder—this is where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet. When the tide goes down, a strip of sand appears between them.

It’s a paradise for kitesurfers and windsurfers, but you can also swim or just enjoy the unique landscape. It’s a sandy beach and super windy. There are a few restaurants in the nearby village, but honestly, I don’t remember seeing any sunbeds—and umbrellas would be useless with all that wind.

It’s totally worth visiting even if you’re not into kitesurfing. Once you’re there, you can walk across the sand strip to the little island and check out the lighthouse.

The easiest way to get to Prasonisi is by car. There are also a couple of buses daily from Rhodes and some coastal towns, but only during high season.

6. Elli Beach

Right in the city of Rhodes, this is the go-to urban beach that stretches across the whole northern tip of the island. It’s fully equipped, with bars, sunbeds, and umbrellas.

My favorite part is the famous diving platform where you can jump from different heights—the highest is 10 meters. It’s also the best spot for parasailing in Rhodes. The views over the city and Elli Beach are amazing. You can book it on this website.

Just a heads-up: it’s not the quietest beach in Rhodes, but if you’re staying in town, it’s super convenient. It’s a pebbly beach, and the water gets deep fast.

7. Ladiko Beach

A little gem near Anthony Quinn Bay and one of my favorites for its more laid-back vibe—though it can still get busy during high season.

It’s a small beach with coarse sand and rocks, very scenic. Surrounded by greenery and with crystal-clear water that’s perfect for snorkeling. There are a couple of bars and sunbeds to rent. It’s easy to reach by car—there’s parking right at the beach—or by bus, which drops you off nearby.

8. Glystra Beach

A quiet, less crowded beach in the south of Rhodes. Golden sand, calm water, and perfect for relaxing. It has sunbeds, umbrellas, and a nice little beach bar. Easy to reach by car, with free parking.

9. Stegna Beach

With more of a local feel, Stegna is a mix of sand and small pebbles. Definitely one of my favorite beaches in Rhodes.

You’ll find authentic seaside tavernas here, and it usually doesn’t get as packed as some of the more popular beaches. It’s a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy some fresh fish after a swim. Another plus: it’s easy to get there by car or bus.

10. Red Sand Beach

A hidden beach that’s not easy to find or reach. As the name suggests, it has reddish sand and a wild, untouched vibe.

There are no services—no bars, no sunbeds, nothing. So bring water, food, and be ready to hike a bit to get there. But if you love raw nature, you’re going to love this place.

11. Oasis Beach

A charming little cove near Kallithea Springs. It has a chill-out bar, straw umbrellas, and sunbeds set up on wooden platforms.

Perfect for spending the day listening to good electronic music. But if that’s not your vibe, you might want to skip it—sometimes the music gets pretty loud.

The water is crystal clear with a rocky bottom, great for snorkeling. The beach itself is pretty unique—some parts have sand, while others are flat rock platforms with pool-style ladders to get in and out of the water.

It’s easy to get there by car or by bus from Rhodes Town or the Faliraki area.

12. Tasos Beach

This small beach is right next to Oasis Beach. Pebbly sand, clear water, and fewer people. There’s a family-run restaurant and a calm, laid-back vibe. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for something more peaceful.

13. Ixia Beach

On the west coast, this is a pebbly beach with constant wind. Not ideal for swimming, but perfect for water sports like windsurfing. If you want to try a class, I recommend this one—it’s super thorough and the instructor is excellent.

There are plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby. If you’re staying in the area, it’s a convenient place to relax or catch a beautiful sunset. The seabed also gives the water a stunning deep blue color.

14. Ialyssos Beach

Very similar to Ixia, with waves and wind. Also popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. You’ll find beach bars, hotels, and all the usual amenities. It’s a rocky beach, so bring water shoes.

15. Fourni Beach

A hidden gem in the southwest of Rhodes. It’s a wild beach with no services, but the scenery is amazing. Sandy with some stones, crystal-clear water, and total peace.

No buses go there, so you’ll need a car. It’s the perfect Rhodes beach to disconnect completely—chances are, you’ll have it all to yourself.
