15 Best Swimming Pools in Chiang Mai

Updated: April 2, 2024

These are the 15 Best Pools in Chiang Mai to swim, relax or enjoy a pool party, ideal for those unbearably hot days.

These are the 15 best swimming pools in Chiang Mai located within walking distance of the old town and all tested by a servant, well yes, someone had to sacrifice and it was my turn, it was for a good cause 😀

They are of all kinds, If you like swimming there are several Olympic pools, others with additional services such as a gym or massages, some with a bar where you can have delicious cocktails while you enjoy the sunset, or even with more lively party-type atmosphere (pool party).

They are in the order that I have visited them, it is not by score or anything like that, here they go:

1 Eco Resort Chiang Mai

Eco Resort Chiang Mai pool

The pool of Eco Resort It is located less than 10 minutes by car from Tha Phae Gate in Chiang Old Town.

The location of the pool is perfect, it is away from the street, you also have to enter a little to get to the reception and then go to the bottom to find the pool, everything in a very quiet garden area.

If you are looking for a moment of peace to disconnect, this is a good option.

I passed by there on a Saturday around 12 noon and there weren't many people, plus the pool is quite large, you can swim without problems.

Keep in mind that you cannot enter with food or drinks from outside, but you can consume something from their bar and restaurant, when you go from the reception to the pool you will find it on the right side.

There is also a fitness corner, before reaching the pool area, where there are two cardio machines that you can use, then you take a shower and duck into the water 😉

Furthermore, before reaching the pool there is a green area on the left side that is very nice, spacious and looks ideal for taking a nap, unfortunately I couldn't try that. Please tell me if you try it!

This pool belongs to the Santitham Plaza Mansion, the great advantage is that it is open to the public and is very close to the center of Chiang Mai, less than 10 minutes from the northwest corner.

It is a somewhat old pool, but if you are nearby it is a very good option, since it is spacious and also when I was there there were not many people, you can swim to your heart's content.

And if that was not enough The price is super cheap, only 50 bahts for adults and 30 bahts for children, even if you have a large family you can go there without breaking the bank and have a great day.

5 Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel

Lotus Hotel Chiang Mai Olympic pool

It is surprising to arrive at the 7th floor of a hotel and find a huge Olympic pool., he lotus hotel It is less than 10 minutes walk from the north-west edge of Chiang Mai's old town.

If you like swimming you will understand that being a swimmer since I was little, seeing this pool moved me deeply.

This pool is certainly the one I found busiest of all, but it would have been less than 15 people, almost all of them were out of the water on their lounge chairs around the pool.

Saying that there were 15 people may sound like it was full, but taking into account that the pool is huge and also the area outside the water is even larger, 15 people is nothing, it was very calm.

Being on the 7th floor it also has good views, I was there during the day, but I'm sure you can enjoy a beautiful sunset from there.

If by chance you go at sunset, please send me a photo or tag me on Instagram @ActiveTravellers1 I would love to see it, well… if you visit this or any other 😉

6 Buristro bar and cafe

Buristro Chiang Mai coworking and pool

Buristro In addition to being a bar and cafe, it is a restaurant, it works as co-working and co-living and as if that were not enough, they have a beautiful pool, which is what interests us in this article.

This pool is located in the Nimman area in a modern style building with a spacious and comfortable interior space, less than 10 minutes' drive from Chiang Mai's Suan Dok Gate.

To access the pool you have to pay 200 baht, that's even being able to work from there, they have tables outside at the entrance, inside and next to the pool; also includes a drink and towel.

The pool is beautiful and it is a very good place if you have to work or do something on the computer, it is quiet enough to concentrate and every now and then you can take a good dip.

On the food menu you will find Western dishes and thai food very well made, just keep in mind that they will add a 10% to the prices as a service.

Another option is to stay at their hotel, which has rooms at a very good price, starting at 25 euros per night per couple, depending on the season.

7 Top North Hotel

Top North Hotel Chiang Mai pool

This pool is located in the top north hotel very close to Tha Phae gate in Chiang Mai, only 100 meters away.

To access you have to enter through the car entrance towards the back and you will find a quite nice space with trees and quieter than you could imagine being so central.

Something very interesting is the children's playground area next door with swings and a slide.

The only drawback I see is the bottom of the pool, it is a little raised in some places, it didn't seem too dangerous to me, but you will have to be careful where you step and some sun loungers that look old.

At the bottom of the pool There is a jet that falls in the form of a waterfall, wonderful for a massage on the shoulders and back.

Otherwise, next to the pool you can also get a massage so that your relaxation is complete, for an additional price.

In all pools it is normal that you need to take off your shoes to enter the area around it, in this specific pool it caught my attention that at the entrance There is an area where you can wash your feet, it seems very hygienic and appropriate to me..

To enter the pool, access is with steps and it gets deeper.

Behind the pool there is an area with tables and fountains with a wonderful relaxing sound of water, is the smoking area too.

In addition to the slide There is a children's play area, the “splash zone” and a smaller pool next door for the little ones.

Outside the pool, near the bathrooms, there is a small playground, a giant chess and a table tennis table.

You can find this pool less than 15 minutes' drive from Chiang Mai's Suan Dok Gate.

If you like to swim seriously this is ideal, without a doubt one of my favorites, It is very economical and is an excellent option to swim calmly as long as you want..

The day I was there there were only 2 people swimming, imagine what that is like in a pool of that size, it's really a pleasure to swim like that.

Next door is also the diving pool, in Chiang Mai as far as I know there are only two pools of this type.

Entrance to the gym is for an additional payment and free for those who live there, it is a fairly spacious and complete gym, The machines are almost all relatively new.

There is also a wide variety of dumbbells, in general the condominium gyms do not have heavy dumbbells, for me it is enough weight, but if you lift a lot of weight you will find it in this one and also the gym has views of the pools.

The towel is not included in the price and you will have to bring your own, but it is not a big problem considering that the price is very affordable for having 2 pools at your disposal for only 80 bahts.

Final Thoughts

You have 15 wonderful pools to choose from in different areas of the city of Chiang Mai and you need to bring very little or almost nothing.

Most even provide you with a towel, you will only need your swimsuit and little else.

All the pools I have visited have been at different times, morning and afternoon, some on the weekend and I have not found any of them that were too crowded to say that it doesn't make me want to stay here.

On the contrary, in most of them there was a lot of tranquility, and there are options for all tastes, If you want to swim some good lengths there are 4 Olympic pools in Chiang Mai.

Coworking spaces with pools, hotels with additional services, delicious food and cocktails to enjoy while you cool off and read your favorite book 😀

  1. Sr Complex (La Piscine) no longer has parties, there is no food or anything. It's just a normal neighborhood community.
I took a dip of strangis and left after 30 minutes.
You don't deserve to pay for the tuk tuk to here.

    • Thanks for the comment Maria, but in the article there is an update from December 2020 saying that La Piscine had already moved and they were no longer in Sr Complex, it is in green at the beginning where I talk about La Piscine.

I'm very sorry for the confusion!
I've added a line below repeating the update.

By the way, I don't recommend tuk tuks at all in Thailand, they will always be very expensive.
If you can, download the Grab application, it costs much more and in Chiang Mai they have many cars.

      A hug
