Hello, I’m Andrea, the creator and writer of Viajeros Activos (Active Travelers). I’m a nomad, so I consider myself a full-time traveler. I’m passionate about good food and always looking for new adventures.
Hi Andrea, I'm thinking of going to Krabi and Phi Phi in mid-October. I read that it's the rainy season, but I saw that it's the opposite in the Gulf Islands (Samui). Does that mean it won't rain there in October? I'm kind of worried about that. I don't know if I should split half in Krabi and the rest in Samui. Thank you very much.
Hello Stella Maris
Yes, generally the monsoon in the Gulf falls in other months, but October just happens to coincide.
It is one of the rainiest months in southern Thailand, in both areas.
Although it's not usually anything serious, the rains usually last for a while or a few hours, and you can enjoy the rest of the day. However, you'll need to be flexible about your travels, as boat and tour cancellations may occur.
If you have flexible dates and want to travel at another time, perhaps this guide to climate in Thailand serve you.
Have a good trip!
